The injectable seasonal influenza vaccine can cause the flu. FICTION!!!
This is a killed virus vaccine and it does not cause the flu. Remember during this season there are numerous other viruses responsible for fever, lethargy and cold symptoms.

The injectable seasonal influenza vaccine can be given to children 6 months of age and older. FACT!!!
The injectable flu vaccine can be given to children 6 months of age and older. The Flumist, the live intranasal mist, can be given to children 2 years of age and older who do not have a history of asthma or wheezing.

Tamiflu is the prescription medication used to treat influenza disease. FACT!!!
Tamiflu is prescribed for the treatment of the flu and may be used for prevention of disease in high-risk household contacts 1 year of age and older. It is most effective if started within 48 hours of onset of symptoms.
